Using MatchMaker’s Feedback & Ratings Features

Learn how to use MatchMaker’s reviews to leverage your show and guest profiles.

Matchmaker.fm’s review system has been updated! Unlike before, reviews are now separate from the booking feature. Here’s a clear guide to how the new system works.

Important: To keep reviews genuine, both users must exchange at least one non-automated message before they can leave or request a review.

Leaving a Review 📝

If you want to proactively share your feedback after collaborating with someone, here’s how it works:

Find the Button: Click “Leave a Review” on the user’s profile or in your direct message thread.
Rate & Write: Choose a star rating and write your review in the simple form.
Instantly Public: Once submitted, the review appears immediately on the recipient’s public profile. They can adjust the visibility later when editing their profile.
Cooldown Period: You can only review the same person once every 30 days to prevent spam. The button will be disabled if you try sooner

Requesting a Review 📩

Want to nudge a collaborator for feedback? Here’s the step-by-step:

Find the Button: Click “Request a Review” on the user’s profile or message thread.
Send a Personal Note: Add a short, customized message to your request.
Notification: The recipient gets an email and in-app notification, and your request appears in their message thread.
Recipient’s Choice:

Accept: They’re directed to the review form. Once submitted, the review goes public, and a “Review sent!” confirmation appears in the thread for both users.
Decline: A “Review request declined” message appears in the thread.

Awards 🏆

Users are also be able to give their collaborators awards. These awards serve as indicators of reliability, and provide valuable insights for other users. By recognising trustworthy and reliable participants, the feature facilitates better decision-making and fosters positive experiences within the MatchMaker community.

Once a user has received feedback from someone they've collaborated with, they'll then have the option to showcase what's been said about them on their profile. To do so, all they'll need to do is activate the Show on profile toggle, like this:

All old Feedback requests linked to our Booking feature will be closed. If you wish to request a review from a profile, please use our new Request Review option from this guide.
