At MatchMaker.fm, our mission has always been to create meaningful connections between podcasters and guests. We’ve helped countless collaborations come to life, giving creators the opportunity to expand their reach and share their stories with the world. As we continue to grow, we’re making an important change so that our community remains valuable, engaged, and committed.
What’s Changing?
Starting soon, MatchMaker.fm will transition into a paid membership community. This means that all existing free members who joined before we introduced trials will need to subscribe to a Pro plan to continue accessing the platform. This shift is designed to improve the overall experience, making sure that every member is dedicated to making valuable connections.
To make this transition smoother, we’re offering a one-month grace period to existing free users. During this time, they’ll still have full access to the platform, giving them a chance to subscribe before their free access ends.
Why This Change is Happening
We’re making this change with our community in mind. We’ve listened to feedback from our users, many of whom have expressed a desire to continue being part of a platform that adds real value to their projects. We believe that by moving to a paid model, we’re building a community of members who are serious about collaboration and committed to engaging meaningfully with each other. This shift will help create a stronger, more dedicated network where every connection counts.
For users, this means:
- Higher-quality connections: Everyone you interact with will be invested in making great matches.
- Improved response rates: A more engaged community means faster and more meaningful replies.
- Long-term sustainability: A paid membership model allows us to continue strengthening our MatchMaker.fm platform, helping us continue to provide top-tier value to our users.
For MatchMaker.fm as a platform, this shift enables us to scale effectively, making us able to continue delivering the best possible experience for our users.
Key Benefits for Our Community
Our goal is not just to charge for access, but to increase the value of being a part of MatchMaker.fm. Here’s what this change means for you:
- More meaningful interactions: With a paid membership, every member is committed to developing real collaborations.
- Less noise, more quality: No more inactive or non-serious users clogging up the platform.
- Continued platform improvements: Your investment helps us improve MatchMaker.fm’s features and functionality.
What This Means for Free Users
Beginning in February, free users will receive a notification informing that they have 30 days left of free access. After this period, they’ll need to subscribe to a Pro membership to continue using MatchMaker.fm.
During this transition, they’ll still be able to respond to existing messages, but starting new conversations will require a subscription.
For our current Pro members, nothing changes! However, if you cancel your subscription, you’ll no longer have access to the platform.
The Bigger Picture: A Stronger Community
This isn’t just about transitioning to a paid model—it’s about strengthening the MatchMaker.fm community. By ensuring that every member is committed, we can increase engagement, improve user experience, and strive for better podcast collaborations.
